Synopsis
In an imagined science-fiction world, Feng Lezhen — a third-grade student who always scores 99 — is sent by her parents to a new school. Here, the grading system allows only 0 or 100. Once a student accumulates 100 zero-scores, she must undergo partial mechanical modification. Feng assumes that no one would want to become a machine, yet the students here seem not only to have accepted it but to actively seek transformation. Even as she tries her best to avoid making mistakes, she cannot escape her fate. Ironically, her first modification is triggered by a teacher's error — and all she can do is make one last desperate effort to resist.
