On that fateful night, Zhihui killed his wife — and only then did he realize how happy life could be. No more nagging, no more endless chatter. The peace he had always dreamed of was simple, yet wonderful. He told friends and family that his wife had gone away on a holiday, and his days were leisurely and carefree — until a vacation postcard arrived in the mail. From her. How could this be? Hadn't he killed her? Or had she come back as a vengeful ghost to claim his life? ...But then, why would a ghost send a postcard? Gradually, the fear and anger faded from Zhihui's heart. He began to recall the tenderness and joy they had once shared. Strangely, he found himself looking forward to the sight of his wife dragging her suitcase back through the door.
